If your content is confusing or copied, Google may not store it.
My first 5 posts were not indexed for 2 months because I had blocked them by mistake in robot.txt settings. That is fixed now.
3. Ranking
When someone searches, Google shows the most relevant pages first. It checks which page answers the question best, which page people stay longer on, and which site looks trustworthy.
SEO helps you in all three steps. It helps your page get crawled properly, indexed correctly, and ranked higher for the right searches.
The 3 Main Types of SEO
SEO is usually divided into three parts. You do not need to master all of them as a beginner, but you should know what they mean.
1. On-Page SEO (Most Important for Beginners)
On-page SEO is everything you do inside your article. This is 80 per cent of SEO for beginners.
This includes:
Choosing one clear topic
Using proper headings like H2, H3
Writing in simple, clear language
Adding internal links to your own old posts
Keeping paragraphs short and readable
If you only focus on on-page SEO, you are already ahead of 70 per cent of new bloggers. I only did on-page SEO for 1 year and got AdSense approval and traffic.
2. Off-Page SEO (Not Required at First)
Off-page SEO means what other websites say about you.
For example, if another blog links to your article, Google thinks your article is valuable.
As a beginner, do not chase backlinks. Do not buy links. Do not spam comments with your blog link.
Focus on content first. Good content gets links naturally over time. I got my first backlink after 8 months without asking anyone. Someone in a gardening forum shared my banana post.
3. Technical SEO (Minimal for Blogger)
Technical SEO includes site speed, mobile friendliness, and structure.
For Blogger users, most of technical SEO is handled by Google automatically.
You only need to:
Use a simple, fast theme like 'Contempo'.
Do not add too many gadgets or pop-ups
Make sure your blog works well on mobile
I checked my blog speed on PageSpeed Insights and kept it above 85 on mobile. That is enough.
What SEO Is NOT
Let us clear up confusion because many YouTube videos misguide.
SEO is not
Instant traffic. It takes 2 to 3 months to show results.
Guaranteed first rank. No one can guarantee number 1.
A one-time task. You need to update old posts sometimes.
A secret formula. There is no secret trick.
SEO is:
A long-term process. It compounds like interest.
Content-focused. Better content wins.
Consistency-based. Publishing one good post every week is better than 7 bad posts in one day.
Trust-driven. Google trusts sites that are active and real.
I waited 3 months for my first 100 clicks. Then the next 100 came in 15 days. That is how SEO grows.

A keyword is simply the words people type into Google.

So ask before writing: What does my reader want to learn from this search? Then give exactly that.
How to Write SEO-Friendly Content (Beginner Method)
You do not need any paid tools. Just follow this 5-step logic that I follow for every post in MindtrekVlog.
Step 1: Pick one clear topic
Do not mix SEO and finance and gardening in one post. One post, one topic. My SEO post is only about SEO.
Step 2: Answer the main question fully in first 300 words
Google sees if you answered quickly. I start answering in the first paragraph now, not after a long story.
Step 3: Use headings to organize ideas
Break your article into H2 and H3. Short paragraphs, 2 to 3 lines only. I keep my body text at only Roboto 18 px and line height 1.8 so it is easy to read on mobile. I explained my full Blogger setup in my first blog post guide.
Step 4: Add real examples from your life
Examples make content trustworthy. Instead of writing 'Good content is important', I wrote, 'I rewrote my banana post with my mother's story, and my views went from 3 to 120.'
Step 5: Keep language simple
Clear writing beats complex wording. I write as if I were talking to a 15-year-old student in Agartala.

Common Mistakes
Avoid these 5 mistakes I made:
Publishing too many short posts of 400 words. Google sees them as low value in 2026. Write 1000 to 1500 words.
Chasing trends instead of evergreen topics. Trends die in 7 days. Evergreen topics like 'What is SEO?' bring traffic for 2 years.
Obsessing over paid tools like Ahrefs and SEMrush. I never bought any tool. Google search suggestions are enough for beginners.
Ignoring readability. I used a small font, 14px, earlier. Now I use an 18px body and a 32px title. My average read time doubled.
Expecting instant results. I waited 90 days. Many quit in 20 days. Patience wins in SEO.
